Unfortunately owing to massively increased spam of an ever more dubious nature new user registrations for the forum have been temporarily blocked to require admin approval (though that shouldn't take too long).
I'm looking at the issue with the forum right now to try and find a longer-term solution to the spam-epidemic and will post here when it's back.
